Hi! My name is Angela Bentley. This is my fifth year at Pond Springs in the Intervention department. This year I'm so excited because I will focus on teaching dyslexia through the Wilson Reading System!
Prior to the birth of my first child, I taught in a variety of locales as I moved with my husband to support his Army career. The multiple relocations provided me with a diverse education experience including teaching English as a second language in South Korea, second grade at Fort Hood, pre kindergarten in Alabama, and reading recovery and fourth grade in Indiana.
We’ve lived in multiple states and three different countries over the last ten years, and I’ve loved every minute of it! But now that my husband has entered the civilian world, and my children are in school, it's time to pursue my passions. In 2017, I finished my Wilson Reading System (WRS) Level I certification. This helped me develop diagnostic and instructional skills to provide Tier 3 instruction to those students who are not making sufficient progress through their current interventions. This past school year has been amazing. Working as an Interventionist has allowed me to rediscover the joy of teaching. I’m energized to come to work each day. I love researching and implementing new strategies to help my students figure out how to decode a word or ignite their desire to read. I can not wait to help your child!
